Developing the total athlete involves a careful balance and combination of age appropriate strength training, power development, speed training and skill development. Limitations in any of these areas can prevent the athlete from reaching their full athletic potential.
· Introduce athletic movement patterns found in all sports.
· Teach young athletes proper running technique from the start.
· Develop athletic coordination and improve relative strength.
· Create greater mobility and flexibility to decrease the chance of injury.
· Establish a solid foundation of athletic movement skills.
